Bouhanni vence en San Fernando; Valverde se viste de rojo (Clasificación COMPLETA y vídeo)

Online 2ª etapa Vuelta España

Decía Bouhanni en la línea de meta que los sprinters no tienen muchas opciones en esta Vuelta y no podían dejar pasar esta primera mitad. Viéndole recientemente en el Eneco Tour con su triunfo en Ardooie, estaba claro que el francés venía con un punto de forma espléndido. Además, ese final un poco sinuoso, picando arriba y abajo, con curva y contracurva, le venía como anillo al dedo. Su amigo, su inseparable Soupe le hizo el resto para dejarle a tiro de la pancarta ganadora. Sin sorpresas, vamos. No hubo diferencias, no hubo cortes en meta, no se picaron segundos y Valverde mantenía en Movistar Team el maillot de líder al entrar por delante de su compañero Castroviejo.

La Vuelta a España cuenta siempre con algunos detalles manifiestamente mejorables y otros que resultan maravillosos a ojos vista de los profesionales, los que compiten. Días como esta primera etapa en línea explican a la perfección por qué muchas figuras del pelotón internacional no dudan en venirse a la ronda española. A preparar próximos objetivos más importantes para ellos, se supone.

Un día tranquilo, carreteras anchas y autovías para rodar sin mucho peligro, sol a tutiplén, una temperatura por encima de 30º, la fuga ni preocupa, ni molesta y los últimos veinte kilómetros se hacen ya a tope para completar la labor hasta meta sin que nadie complique con un ataque postrero el orden en la llegada. Más de 4 horitas inmejorables para ellos encima de la bicicleta. Normal que alguno esté encantado de venir a la Vuelta. En su casa no harían un mejor entrenamiento.

El viento de Levante que podía haber sido el único compañero peligroso de viaje, no hizo acto de aparición. De Tarifa a Conil apenas se notó y si apareció, fue a favor. La escapada se hizo de salida, como se hacen últimamente las fugas de las etapas llanas en las grandes vueltas, sin pelea, pero sin que cogiera diferencias. El psicolabis del ecuador de la jornada hizo que se fueran a los cinco minutos, pero en cuanto Giant Shimano y FDJ se pusieron a pensar en Degenkolb y Bouhanni, con dos hombres y el control de los Movistar Team, dejaron la fuga vista para sentencia en apenas 40 kilómetros.

Con viento en contra claro a la entrada de Cádiz y de cola a la salida hacia San Fernando, ya no se movió nadie más allá de los equipos de los gallos protegiendo a sus líderes y los de los sprinters colocando a sus bazas.

Con Bouhanni dominador, el único suspense quedaba luego en ver quién cogía en Movistar Team el maillot de Castroviejo. No hubo reparto. La obligación de los líderes de estar delante para evitar sorpresas y cortes hizo el resto y Valverde llegará mañana a Arcos vestido de rojo

Primera etapa en línea de la Vuelta 2014 con salida en Algeciras y llegada en San Fernando. Se trata de una etapa llana, con un puerto de 3ª categoría en la primera parte del recorrido. Será una jornada de nervios en la que el viento se podría convertir en uno de los protagonistas en los últimos kilómetros. Día propicio para los sprinters.

Salida: Algeciras

Algeciras se está consolidando como un destino fundamental de turismo de naturaleza y experiencias. Está considerada por los ornitólogos como el tercer mejor lugar del mundo para la observación de aves migratorias. Delfines y ballenas también pueden conocerse con la ayuda de los barcos de avistamiento que operan en el Estrecho. Las fabulosas playas y los senderos naturales satisfacen plenamente a los visitantes que buscan tranquilidad y valoran el medioambiente. Como novedad, se ha inaugurado la Ruta Paco de Lucía, un recorrido por los lugares más ligados a la vida y obra del genial guitarrista algecireño. Y todo, porque Algeciras cuenta con un enclave único, entre dos aguas, frente a las montañas de Marruecos, a sólo 14 kilómetros por mar, y entre la costa de la Luz y del Sol. Algeciras es un destino no exento de historia que ya está dando mucho que hablar.

Llegada: San Fernando
Bienvenidos a San Fernando, la ciudad del sur de España donde la historia, el parlamentarismo, la tradición de las Fuerzas Armadas, el flamenco, el mar y la naturaleza se entremezclan y se dan la mano.

La Isla, como popularmente conoce a San Fernando, se encuentra en el corazón de la Bahía de Cádiz y constituye un lugar de ensueño para el visitante gracias a su buena climatología, su situación privilegiada a orillas del mar y rodeada de la naturaleza de un Parque Natural y al carácter abierto y amistoso y acogedor de sus ciudadanos.
